Aww... I was expecting Touhou...

Regardless, this piece was okay, but in my opinion the bass was a bit too harsh. It hurt my ears. It also didn't really go anywhere, staying more or less the same throughout the entire piece.

However, my speciality isn't really in this sort of music, so my comments may well be totally out of order, they are simply what I feel.

Thank you very much for your review Hoeloe! I take your critic and I will work on my audio mastering skills.

I agree, too much reverb.

Far too much reverb on this. It's quite difficult to listen to. As well as that, the timings are rather erratic, and it doesn't stick to any sort of constant tempo, meaning that it sounds very jarring, since it's constantly slowing down and speeding up without any real reason. Fix these two things, and you'll have a fairly decent track.

Thanks for the honesty and tips, appreciate it. Btw I'm a huge fan of your work, your remixes are beyond amazing man.

The mastering is off...

The quality of the instruments is very variable in the piece. The strings sound okay, but the piano sounds very... I think MIDI is the only way to describe it. There's also no variation in the song, it just repeats exactly the same thing. Which is fine, to an extent, but, in my opinion, remixes should attempt to bring out the essence of the music, and thus use instruments and volume to, in this case, really get across the idea of an ebb-and-flow style, to reflect the turning of the windmill. This seems more... flat.

I know I'm not making much sense here, and it is my personal opinion, but I think this could be a lot better if some more work went into it.

Could use improvement.

I'm agreeing with MADSHARK here, the instruments you chose were a little bit too joyful, and didn't really fit with the tone of the music (that's not the scenario, by the way, it's the key signature and such). As well as that, the sound samples you used sound very tinny, and it seems little effort was made in mastering to improve them. The volume of various instruments is all over the place, particularly on the percussion.

All in all, it's nice, but definitely needs some work done to it.

It's all right.

It's okay. The sound samples used are pretty low quality, but the mastering also has some issues. The composition is fine for the most part, but a little messy in places, including the ending, and some of the harmonies don't quite work. It's also kind of difficult to tell where the tune is going at certain points, which makes it a little difficult to listen to.

That's mostly me being picky, on the whole, it's pretty good.

Pretty poor to be honest.

This sounds like you've just grabbed a MIDI file and submitted it. In my opinion, that's not really acceptable, at least TRY to put something of your own into it, even if it's just revamping the instruments and trying to actually make it sounds realistic, that's better than nothing. Sorry, I can't rate this high at all.

I just love your work.

Fantastic composing, as always, incredible instrument samples, epic mastering. Totally flawless. As far as I know, you can do no wrong, I envy your talent.

Very loud and painful on the ears.

Sorry, but it uses some really low quality samples, no attempt at even reverbing or masting them, everything just piles together into one big mess, not to mention the horrendous percussion, that doesn't even attempt to use different volumes to make a more in depth sound.

Basically, it sounds like you just uploaded a MIDI file rather than actually trying to change anything about it. I admit, I voted it a little too low, and for that I apologise, but it was not good, I'm afraid. Perhaps try working with some reverb and equalising effects, and put some effort into making the sound richer, rather than just putting notes into a file and saying it's done.

It's alright.

It was quite good, sounded okay. Not my style of music, really, but I'm not one to rate on that. My beef with this is that it is very hard to hear an actual melody, but it really sounds like you just tried to make something loud & dance-styled without really giving much thought as to a tune. There is a tune there, but it's hard to grasp, and doesn't really do much except repeat. Perhaps a little more variety in the tune, and make the tune stand out a little over the background sounds would make this piece better.
